Gingivitis means inflammation of gums, and it mostly occurs due to a film of plaque or bacteria on your teeth. Although it is non-destructive kind of periodontal disease if left untreated can progress to periodontitis. Most of the time, patients may not even know that they have gingivitis because its signs are mild. The initial symptoms of gingivitis are red and puffy gums, and it bleeds when you brush your teeth . There are two types of gingivitis diseases. Dental Plaque-induced gingivitis disease is caused by systemic factors, plaque, medications or malnutrition.
